Introduction:

In joining Broome Manor Golf Club, you have joined one of the most successful golf clubs in the South of England. The club has a number of accomplished players and has enjoys considerable success at County and National level.
Despite this pedigree, it is a friendly club which strives to accommodate players at all levels with a range of competitions for players of all handicap levels.

Handicap Information:

• The rules for obtaining a recognised handicap are shown in the Information Section of the Club Diary.
• Handicaps are allotted and altered in accordance with the EGU regulations and procedures.
• The committee is entitled to adjust players handicaps under rule 19 when players have exceptional scores.
• Ultimately, it is each players responsibility to ensure that their handicap is up-to-date and accurate. If players have entered a recognised away competition they must inform the Secretary of their scores and the CSS for the competition.

Competitions:

Medals:
• The club runs a number of medals each month one of which is a Monthly Medal.
• For medals Players book their own tee times and must sign the competition book prior to commencing play in a medal.

Drawn Events:
• For all drawn events, a sheet is put on the notice board approximately 5 weeks prior to the date of the drawn event to allow players to enter the event.
• Approximately 3 weeks prior to the event, players will be drawn at random and allocated a tee time with 2 other players of similar handicap.
• Any player who fails to notify the Secretary or, on the day, the Pro’s shop of withdrawal from a drawn event will be ineligible for the next three drawn events.
• Tee times are booked by the golf club for drawn events.
• The maximum handicap permitted for drawn events is 20. Players with a higher handicap may enter but will play off 20 for these events.

Knockout Competitions:

• Various singles and pairs knockout competitions are run throughout the year, entry sheets are displayed on the notice board.

Score cards:

• Players must enter their name, the date and competition name on their score card for all events.
• Cards must be signed by both player and marker and put into the appropriate box in the lobby.
• Any infringement of rules will result in disqualification from the event.

County Cards:

• These are available from the Secretary at a cost of £15 and in 2007 entitle a days golf or a round of golf at clubs in 15 counties.

Friendly events:

• A number of friendly events are arranged each year and members are invited to play by the Club Captain.
• Jackets and ties must be worn at the meal after the event.

Club Nights:

• These occur during the summer season on Wednesday evenings.
• An entry sheet is posted on the notice board.
• The Club Captain nominates the format for each event.

New Members evenings:

• All new members will be invited to attend two events during the year.
• This is an opportunity to gain useful information about how the club operates and manages competitions such as medals and drawn events.
• It is also an opportunity to meet other members and arrange partners for medal play.
• On the evening, weather permitting, there is a friendly team competition before the meeting in the club house.

Presentation Evenings:

• There are normally two Presentation Evenings per year where prizes are presented to winners of medals and drawn events.
• We encourage all winners to attend these events (Jacket and tie must be worn by winners collecting prizes).
